I was wondering if some of these weights were form large scale and others on small scale....
Devin nice load and good job working that large load. I'm curious about the two classifications of # 2 copper, looks like they have two categories of #2, code numbers 1054 and 602 . Both paying the same at $2.06 (ouch), one was 48 Lbs. and the other 2 Lbs. Obvious that you had separated them prior to yard trip, what are the two different grades?
Those are a/c coils that just got stretched out, they come from the circular a/c units.
My yard has huge steel boxes in the yard and you drive up to them and a forklift brings them in when they are filled, I had like 5 boxes total and some were shred, aluminum, other stuff and than they weigh them on inside scale and dump it, so that explains why there are a bunch of each (multiple boxes)
And I go to alters metal recycling, they have tons of locations you can see on their website
Yeah, it looks like they're fairly big. Interesting their geographic concentrations. Too bad they don't give a price list (our local steel taking place doesn't either). The closest of these Alters places would be 100-150 miles away from here.
Still getting .07 a LB here. I have to drive about 50 miles round trip, or I get .04 a lb for the yard 7 miles from my house. The price difference is worth it for me. I've also pretty much stopped curb shopping as it's not really that sustainable for me anymore. I let the scrap come to me and I'm a lot more focused on making connections rather than wasting gas driving around for scrap that may or may not be there.
