Thanks for posting that. Unreal.
MEH!! More journalism where there was a definite disconnect between brain and pen!!
This guy made some money on a one time lucky dumpster dive...he pulled stuff out of store dumpsters that were brand new returns. Well, DUH!! 99% of us on SMF can turn that kinda stuff into cash just like mr. white collar did. Wonder if he asked permission?
Sensationalism in journalism. All this does is make it harder for us schmoes in the trenches to get stuff...more idjits who think that their old computer has 2 lbs of gold in it!!
Jon.. whose opinion of journalists has just ratcheted down another dozen notches..
Definitely had a BS factor about it, but I still liked it.
its VERY stupid for anyone to advertise ow much they make/made dumpster diving/scrapping
esp on a widely read website.
it will just make things harder for us
now im sure many of u in the US will have to deal with more people who expect a highly unreasonable amount of money for the scrap they have.
stupid, stupid, stupid
Yea I agree he doesn't make 2500 per night he obviously did that a few times and claims he does. Otherwise sharing that kind of info he will easily get a stampede of people in Texas in front of him after advertising that like he did...
The real negative effect will be the un intended ones. increased restriction of access to all the dumpsters using insurance reasons. Un protected dumpsters are a liability suit waiting to happen.
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"
This is the truth. As soon as the insurance execs and company lawyers read this story, the no trespassing signs and fences will start going up right and left. And the killer is, we all know the story is bogus. Just some guy's way of finding his 15 minutes of fame so he can add it to his resume...
Have Fun,
Harold
I hate rules, but I love junk.
Sensationalism sells advertising. Trust nothing you read or see from these boobs.

Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.
Well the streets are paved with gold here in Austin, Texas. I think I will have to get in line to get near any dumpsters now. The stores corporate legal teams will panic that somebody will get hurt on their property and start locking them or fencing them or worse. Yes you can find some good items in the dumpster but I think he is embellishing just a bit.
