    Craigslist people AGAIN

Wow. People on there don't surprise me anymore. Put an ad up for nonworking electronics and a guy that I assume scraps also emailed me accusing me of scamming people and threatening that him and his buddies will have my ad flagged and removed. Once I told him I wasn't gonna be bullied into taking my ad down he said it was on and he was gonna get me barred from craigslist. I responded with "man it's so hard to create a new account huh?" Apparently he didn't like that or that I laughed at him cause my ad is still up so then it turned to threats. He emailed me this morning saying "see you soon, you are gonna learn what blindsided is" lol.
A half hour later I get a email from a guy claiming to have all types of stereo equipment that no longer works and that if I want to come check it out I can. I emailed the dumb guy back and told him he has to try harder than that to trick me but he hasn't replied yet. Reply about the stereo stuff a half hour after he said that seems fishy considering I haven't had any other replies about the ad I put up all week. Call me paranoid but I don't know, maybe I'm wrong

    Craigslist people AGAIN

I emailed the guy that replied saying he had stereo equipment and asked if he can send pics but he won't send them. Says it would take a while to take pics of it all but I can stop by whenever so more reason to think it's the guy threatening me

Its easy show up with a pistol on your side and see if he is as big as he says he is when your face to face. most people hide behind the internet and bully people. Show up and watch him squirm his way out of it when you have a 45 pointed at him.

I'd ignore him and the "guy with stereo equipment" and go about your business - not worth the trouble.

That's my plan. Crazy it all started cause him and his buddies think they're the only ones who can post scrap related ads on there lol

The scumbag must be one of those guys mentioned in the San Antonio article about $2500/night scrapping: "....way too much personal baggage...."

    Jon.

Supposedly him and his buddies already have flagged it, ads still up so I think he needs more buddies to help. You got a point though. Crazy people take it that far, makes scrapping sound like drug dealing or something lol

He called you. You have his number. Call him up with a sweet scrap deal and when he gets there you and your buddies tell him that now you know what he looks like and wish him good luck on his scrapping endeavors.

DO NOT SHOW HIM YOUR WEAPON UNLESS YOU PLAN TO KILL HIM!!! Once he gets a look at your carry piece, he can describe it to the cops anytime and have his story backed up by the examination of your carry piece matching his description of the weapon you pulled on him.

It's all thru craigslist anonymous email, no name or number. I don't even plan on meeting with him. Wouldn't be worth it. There's been so much back and forth trash talk so far that if I did it would definitely lead to a fight. My birthday's tomorrow so I don't wanna go to jail for kicking his a++ lol

I'll catch ire for this but lets see..

    The replies have been...

    Show up with a gun.

    Fight him.

Threaten him with your own friends.

Be the adult and ignore the fool.

I think I'd go with the last option. The others may make you feel good at first, till they turn around an bite you in your ass, an you find yourself facing felony charges. Seriously man, it's Craigslist. Not high school. Ignore the bull**** an move on with your day. Save the emails if you must an fwd them to Craigslist and have him banned. I'm pretty sure threatening someone with bodily harm is a violation of their TOS.

Or..you know..show up, pull a gun for no reason, with all your buddies there, run the risk of a gun charge, mob charge, etc etc.

    Jus' saying.

I recommend you print out the threatening emails and his phone number.

Report him to Craigslist right away-they take threats seriously and they WILL deal with it.

    Also make a police report.

    Do not take threats lightly.

Most importantly do not confront him.

Let the police and craigslist handle it.

Also tell the scrap yard he sells to that he is threatening you.

    Just my .02

I think you should tell all of us what city this is and then we can post additional scrap ads to really fire him up. We could all send forward you any emails or leads that we get.

You're right. I take my "friends" suggestion back. I got a bit carried away with his threats. Call the cops and report the threats.

Frankly I'm surprised you didnt notify the police and CL already. It happened to me last year. I did my diligence and called the authorities whom I assume contacted craigslist for all the pertinent information. Short while later in our newspaper there are two guys each arrested for making threats and cyber bullying (its a crime in wi...i had no idea). I am trying to offer a service NOT entertain anyone who thinks I am slighting them by offering said service. The guys would have gotten quite a bit further selling what they get to me than harassing.

I would never suggest a gun be brandished at all, no reciprocation of threats, nothing. Heck...I guess people forget cops love craigslist for this very reason. It's an easy way for them to make arrests because there is no such thing as anonymous.

And now ladies and gentleman, I'm off to see a man about some scrap. hehe

That's what I'd do. We had a "property dispute" issue with a neighbor dumping junk on our property. Everyone else tried everything from returning the garbage, to talking with him, to...

I saw him do it once, and I called the county sheriff. End of problem!

exactly matador...for all the issues that society in america seems to have with cops we are quick to forget that WE pay THEM to SOLVE PROBLEMS without resorting to violence or crimes ourselves. Take advantage of the service offered because YOU pay taxes for the very reason you don't HAVE to accept threats like that. I hope some others take that as a lesson.
