Found this while curb shopping, seems to be antique I found a similar item on eBay that was an ash tray, sold for a decent price. It's mostly non magnetic(some parts have a slight pull not much though). Anybody ever seen something like this?

What kind of magnet are you using? I sometimes find items have spots that a magnet can be attracted to when It should not. Weld spots on SS items is a good example. Good stainless steel can attract the magnets that come out of hard drives(Rare Earth magnets). I understand but have not confirms that objects with high nickel content can be attracted to Rare Earth magnets. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
Hard drive magnet.
It's neat looking, I personally don't know anything about your find. A little caution, avoid doing any heavy cleaning, if it is of value as a antique, cleaning could lower the value as it's the antiqued natural aged "patina" that some serious collectors will value. It's OK to remove the dust, dirt, grime and "yuk", but with copper/brass antiques it's the natural greenish patina that is not only desirable, but adds value.
Looks like a pewter photo frame. Souvenir maybe?
Can't find one that looks the same anywhere though.
