CBM- Copper bearing MONSTER

Found this massive cbm inside of an old welder. Made of wood with solid brass edging this welder had to of dated back a long long time. The motor inside weighed in at 194 lbs and got me $29.10. I could barely move this monster without a dolly and the welder needed to be wheeled to my house from my friend dad that gave it to me and took 4 people. This thing had tons of wood on it but dont pass wooden objects like this up just because it looks like a lot of trash. With the brass, cbm and the massive wiring I'd say I got around $60 just for the 3 minutes it took me. Here's some pics, anyone ever seen one this big ?!?!? Tried to strip it down but the wrapping is way to thick, so I just sold as is.

Did you get a picture of the welder before you took it apart? I've never seen one in a wooden case. Gotta be from the dawn of (welding technology) time....

Sadly not, it looked old and previous owner said when he plugged it in it shocked him. It was old

I found that a reciprocating saw (sawzall) with a looooonngg blade works wonders on removing the copper in these circumstances.

If that isn't an option, a wood chisel and hammer used in a way to cut through copper is worth a try.

Yea I have a grinder and sazall just didn't find it that easy to cut. The copper was thinner than the tape so I didnt see the worth in tearing it out, it would of only fetched 6c for the steel after taking the copper out and 2.06 for copper so I didnt see the profit, I had other things to do and no room to store
