    The truth comes out

Yes the truth comes out , How ??
well for the longest time I put up with typical crap
of the collection of inventory (from wife even kids)

But it did not deter me as a trip to yard could yield $100 $200 $250
Well the could yield has turned into minimal yield,
yet now I see how used to the flow of money they became - that was and is not now .

The lack of appreciation of the gift of scrap has them perplexed cause now they see something is amiss
There is negative energy in the Cosmos but it's not from us scrappers .

Yes I know the feeling, I think last week was one of the few weeks I didn't go to the yard. I have plenty to sell, just don't want to see another dismal receipt from the yard. Then go back to the office and log them or it into my spread sheet, realizing, then wondering WTF is or happened? Stair at the office walls for a minute, maybe shake my head, no, no. Get off my a$$ and go back at it, because this is who I am!

Lol, I feel ya CH and I'm in the hole $40.00 yet again this week paying out for the other end of scrapping on Monday night o my kids. I pay them for driving around on their end and meeting us in the middle and half the time in this weather/time of year I'm lucky to break even BUT I like it gives them an income stream and I don't lose out on any scrap on that end. I haven't paid out any more than that since I'm stock piling but they know that and understand the situation.

I don't mind losing out when it helps my kids and its keeping us in the game. Sooner or later things will pick up.

now, on MY end I don't have as much pocket money as I used to since I haven't turned in with prices so low so I'm the one hurting the most.

Our yard is a bit depressed, too. I work with them for farm tires (We use old car tires on our implements). They get a bill for any tire that they have to dispose of, so they perk up when I want a few tires. I think that it shows that they're really concerned about money. When prices were good, they still let me have the old tires, but they weren't as enthusiastic.

The last time I was there, they were trying to maximize a semi trailer load. They never were that concerned about it.

Things will turn around eventually, but until they do, I suspect that the yards are sweating bullets just like some of us are.

Times are tuff. One of my son's moved back in.
Daughter is getting by. Good thing about it I see them more often. The come here 3-4 times a week for a good meal. Plus having my son close is really great , he's picking up my slack from my injured hand and bad back.

The wife and kids are typical. They get all the normal house hold i come, which isn't much ss + a small amount from the VA, in all about $1500 per mo, but the property is all paid for, so it wasent too bad. I started scrapping for something to do and pocket money for me and each of the family. no one really respected the scrapping much and still don't, but they didn't hesitate to spend there share of the profits.

After a while it was just assumed dad would magically come through for the extras and that sort of morphed into taking it for granted and then being expected.

$1000 extra for Christmas, then $400 for my sons old car parts, then a different car now parts for it. The cold has raised the utility costs and on and on.

It is just life guys/gals. If we are smart enough to be good scrappers then we also can figure out a way through these tough times. It isn't like I didn't tell you it was coming. Sry but some times truth is hard. Together we can get through this we are a tough bunch. mcw

He's been at my side working for pay since he was 11. He runs my crews better than me in my painting business. Great kid. He's 24. Always is there for me. He always wanted to help when he's was a little bit so I let him hand me tools or what he was capable of. Always fertilize their curiosity, even when it inconvenient.
That's all the advice I'll give on raising kids, except love em!

I'm taking off as much time as I can to help my father to farm this spring. The only thing that I'll receive (And that I want) is the memories. Some of my best memories have been with him.

Spending quality time with family is priceless. It's one of the most important things in life.

Metalbestos your son is growing fast! I always wanted a son. Have a step daughter and love her like my own, a son would have been nice just not in the cards!
