Hey Devon, was just looking at SMF breakdown and thought of this thread. Those plugs and even circuit breaker's would be a good material to process. Especially starting out.
I get a steady flow of that and it could easily be stepped up. Thanks for starting this thread. I'd been checking the guy's video's out for a couple days and was toy with the idea myself.
Maybe smaller one to start.

I doubt that it would be profitable. First, you need the hammer mill. There's $7500 that you'd have to recover to be where you started from.
Second, you need some way to run the mill. If it uses 3-phase electrcity, you'll need a hookup. If it runs off of a PTO, you'll need an old farm tractor. There's more money.
If prices were good, I could see it maybe penciling out. But, with prices where they are, it would take a lot of metal to get back to where you started from.

If you had a large a mount of them I could see getting one of these but for someone who doesn't get the bulk that wouldnt actually make this a good investment, it wouldn't be worth it.

Yeah, that's the point. I agree you need a constant flow of material, and in quantity amounts. I'd never purchase one without knowing I could feed it well.Originally Posted by Kochy
