Im turning 16 on sunday. Also got 2 appliance pickups scheduled on monday! Ill post some pics of that when it comes along.

6 ft bed, but ill build some sides to make up the space.

Sorry for the bad quality I had to take a picture of a picture...

Neat! Now start making money with her!

You can do a fair amount with a 6' bed. On my 1/2 ton Chevrolet with the 8' bed, I can only load E-Waste slightly higher than the bed level. Any more than that, and I'd be way overweight. With a 6' bed, you'll still be able to haul 1500# without space problems.

plus he can utilize that back cab area! Soon enough he will learn to use straps and boards and his tailgate if need be.

Congratulations, nice-looking truck. My first one (many years ago) was a $500 '73 Dodge half ton. You'll be surprised at what that half ton can do if you need it to. You'll be much better off than all the guys I see in my area with their horribly overloaded S-10s and Rangers.

If she ever develops a sudden bad miss like you dropped a cylinder, it's probably nothing to panic about. Those Triton V8s have individual ignition coils that have a high failure rate. One small bolt and one wiring plug, and you're back in business in less than ten minutes. If you take the truck on any longer trips out away from town, it probably won't hurt to keep a spare coil in the glovebox. A cheap portable code reader will pinpoint the bad coil by identifying the misfiring cylinder. Between a cheap code machine and a spare coil, you might have $150 invested, even less if you grab a coil or two from a junkyard wreck.

Solid choice I recently purchased a 150 as well as it saves on gas compared to my f350. I also got the ranger though which i still love but am almost exclusively using the 150 unless I got to haul the flatbed around.

Congrats and welcome to the tenth generation of the infamous Ford F150 ^.^ I was able to do more with mine that most other 1/2-ton trucks. I was able to haul a fully loaded dual-axle uhaul on top of a fully loaded truck bed from TN to NY without much trouble plus drive stabily around in this NY snow in 2H until that battery died. Now, yours looks like a 2wd which is fine(can't see if the bed has the 4wd sticker on it or not), and judging by the condition of the outside, I'd wager 150,000 mi? No matter, don't be afraid to put this truck through its paces because it will deliver every time. As SparrowMetals said, right around the 180-200,000mi mark the coil packs will go(sometimes they'll last a bit longer then that - I know I need to have mine replaced, just haven't done it yet because of other matters) but their simple to replace as their located in the front of the engine above your pulleys and look like large solenoids with a set of DIN wires coming out if it.

Also, your rear bench will fold forward flat to form a cargo area so you can store a toolbox and tools. If you have questions about this generation of truck there's a bunch of us here to help ya out.

It's 4wd. And yea the seats fold back not up but there's still a large area for cargo. Thanks a lot everyone

In short order you'd be spending good money on a small trailer (7x12) with mesh sides would be just right. the ramp on the trailer will save your back, steel on the trailer and non ferrous in the bed to sort later. Cargo nets would also be a really good investment! Go gitter done!

Just built the sides onto it, plan to build gates for above the tailgate that slide off, but heres so far...:

Took some 2x4's and ripped them down for the stake pockets and bolted those into the truck from the inside of the bed, than ran 1x4's up the side with 1" spacing and then towards the window secured some 2x4's to the pocket boards and put up a full 1x4 on the top of window, and on the bottom. Than 20" 1x4's along the 3 in the center on both sides, and sealed it up with 2 boards on either side of my view hole. Only about $60 in lumber and bought a new dolly while at lowes! Can't wait to fill it up.

You could (should) clean up the rockers and sill panels on the sides that are commonly rusty with a wire wheel and then a 80 grit flapper disc. After that shoot EPOXY primer on it. After that, dupli color kevlar bedliner on both sides. As soon as it warms up I will be doing exactly this, except I have no rust to speak of I'm just thinking preventatively. If there are holes that are pretty big just throw a fiberglass mat behind it, dab a bit of two part epoxy to set it in place while you work and then slather it up in resin, clean it up and finish as above. I had a 89 f150 way way back and thats all I did to it to make it look very presentable. Followed a body crease front to back with roll on bedliner after the prep.

You might want to screw a nice piece of plexiglass to the frame around the window, that way nothing gets thrown through the hole and takes out a window.

Or expanded metal. Either one will save you a head ache. Literally.

Yes- I can't speak loudly enough on a front rack. I didn't have one on the Chevrolet, and something poked through to the front corner. To make a long story short, I'll be doing touch-up painting this spring.

I'll probably do the plexiglass. The guy before me did a lot of work to it and put tons of new stuff in, also got a tune up. He repacked bearings, new springs, new front and rear diffs, new ball joints. and tons more. About the bed I only plan to have the truck for a year or 2 than trade up for a nicer one. I'm not putting any money into it as I don't see the bed rusting in that short of time. Thanks
