Anyone have 10,050 pairs of glasses?

Scrap prices down... Been browsing craigslist to make some extra $.... and boom I hit the motherload!

Guy cleaning out a storage unit that the guy died and his kids never paid rent on it and owned a chain of glasses stores.

10,050 eyeglass cases.

Hit up mom an pop spots.

General store type places. Any kind of tourist shop, etc.

Never know who will buy them, an if you can afford to unload them cheaper then brand new, they may be tempted to give it a whirl. Be willing to do smaller lots also..500 or so. Some places may only want to try a small order at first.

Of course there is always eBay. Or even Amazon. Ship them the boxes an let htem handle the customer shipping if you want. Or ship yourself as they sell. Good Amazon item I think. I'm odd tho, you all know this already tho.

I'd be inclined to go the eBay route if they're similar. Some dutch auctions, and you'd have a lot of sales!

Try something like the "Garage-A-Rama" we have out here. It's basically an indoor garage show where you rent a booth. I bet that they'd sell like hotcakes!

Ebay. Try to sell in bulk lots, you might have good luck at low prices in bulk. You don't want to sit on these forever do you? You will never sell them all locally.

Sell what you can locally. But, IMHO (since they were free) sell them ASAP at any price you can get. Anything is a profit at this point. Huge potential for a headache here. I wish you luck!

I agree with ParkerFlyer. Sell them fairly cheap and be done with them. How many come in a case and how many cases do you have? If the research shows that the one brand in more in demand than the other, then maybe break some of the cases up. Otherwise, they're all ready boxed up to go, just open the case and make sure its full, and send them off (unless you want to pack them a little better for shipping). I have sort of the same thing with 70 ceramic molds I got for free. The show stopper with those through ebay is mostly the shipping because of the heavy weight inbolved. But I'm in the green as of now so except with some additonal minor costs, its mosly my time while watching/listening to tv.

I don't know how to do it; but you had better make sure they are not knock offs (trade mark and patent violations) they can make life hard on you in a hurry! I'd be suspicious of somebody dumping that kind of merchandise over storage rent.

Yea it's legit Ive done research into the back story of why he's giving them out and all they are all real brand. And yea there are 100 in each box of oranges and 150 in boxes of black ones. So that adds up to 10,050 ill be picking up another load today and Than I'll have around 15,000

Update: they are all made of metal under the thin fabric and yards will buy them as shred. Worst case scenario I sell them as shred.

Yea I will definitally keep about 500 for sale but before I unload on shred I wanna call some stores about selling them bulk to them. But I think I got about 3000 lbs of them.

Update: sold the full lot of 17,600 for $0.20 each. That's $3,520. Not bad for some free stuff.

I'd give the guy who turned you on to the deal a nice tip (don't need to tell him how much you made), but a C note (or two) and your business card and he won't forget you Remember to put some of that cash away for important stuff. I don't know what your plans are after high school but obviously you have a sense of business drive at your age. 529 plans can be used for any kind of post-high school education and anything they make while in effect are tax sheltered, Even if you were to go into business full time after high school, you could use 529 money to take business, accounting, or other financial classes. Keep up the good work!!!!
