    You will be throwing away good money. The shop vac will be corroded from acid fumes after the first use. The only way to refine is optimally having a fume hood or working outside where there are no kids ,pets or other people around. If you want to learn more go to the gold refining forum. Sign up and read until your eyes hurt. Be warned questions by new people are not tolerated well unless you have some working knowledge of what you doing. Good luck.
