    somethings just wont move

I went and looked at a minneapolis moline z tractor today I offered 40 a ton for it not much of a margine for me its only a 3700 lb tractor. I filled the tires and got 2 out of 4 to hold air not perfect but a good start so I backed the trailer up to it chained it up and started working the magic with my come along the truck and trailer moved. Not a suprize they said 15 years its sat so I dropped the trailer and chained the tractor to my truck. 88 silverado 1 ton with a 454 thinking heres the ticket to loosen it up. After 5 or 6 tugs it wasnt moving so the woman said my husband will be home in about half an hour he has a 1 ton pick up too. So hurry up and wait he shows up and we hook his f350 diesel to it and give it 5 tugs with both trucks and it didnt budge. So after 2 1 ton pickups worth ot torqe and weight I was out of ideas and just called it a wash and a learning experience and a good laugh on the way home. Just because it seems easy it wont be.

Probably the least you will have to do to move it is cut the break drums. You should now get a better price because it is so hard to move.

Anything worth selling besides the steel on that thing?? Older tractors from defunct or merged companies are coming harder to find all the time for collector types. A few parts off to sell for more than scrap value and it might loosen up enough to move

For old tractors, try "yesterdays tractors"...google it--its a big forum site. Minnie-Mo's have a following, but I don't know where the Z fits in. I have an old MM "U" and they are a solid old beast.

I would have loved to take it but it was a junk tractor the one back rim was rusted threw almost 1/4 of it was gone all tires were bad no gas cap or tin can on the exhaust and no water in it with coolant hoses cut open. A few parts would have been pulled but most of it would have been scrapped. They are not very expensive here in mn its common because they were made in hudson mn. I saw running driving selling for 1500-1900 after onlibe searches so after new rubber and a rim 6v battery and who knows what else to get it going I could have almost bought one for a couple hundred more running. It was 40 miles from home so its not worth going back for. I deal mostly with appliances and cars. It was just a project for the afternoon on some down time. With unprpared at 70 and prepared at 110 the only profit after disposal of the tires would have been the copper radiator and battery starter and alittle copper wire. I wasnt the first to try she said aome guys bought some old equipment last week.
