    Proof you guys are genuises!

So after some of your responses to my post about the ding dongs doing junk removal and cleanouts for free (still cringing when I think about it), I reached out to a bank I have a loan through and let them know about my services. They informed me they had a hotel ( ) they just foreclosed on and resold but under the agreement with new owners the bank promised to remove all the junk from the restaurant and kitchen. I agreed to look at it thinking some tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment. I got there and could barely keep my excitement down. They used this are for storage for at least a decade! There was one path throughout the restaurant area and one path through the kitchen. There is at least 100 air conditioners in there and 50 microwave and 100 bed frames, chairs, fridges....unreal. Best part is, I only have to get rid of the stuff that has value so the 100+ crts in there I don't have to mess with! Bank man said he'd give me a month to finish it if needed but would like it done sooner if possible. They are also looking for a new company to do all their REO properties so they said they'd provably give me a call for those too! A HUGE thank you to this site and those who helped take my focus off the little stuff and go bigger. I'm hoping to get pics on fri if his schedule permits.

There is a TON of non scrap stuff in there....that's the main reason I want to start taking pics by Friday, so I can start selling it all! Lol

No need for proof. I already knew I was a genius. Glad to see it confirmed though!

An Hypo..I made a few posts many moons ago on the joys of hotels. Dig them up or feel free to PM me. My other half is an AGM of one, so I know all about the fun of landing one as a client.

Good job tho getting out there an landing the gig. Now go after all the others! A lot of them do change outs every year.

Good luck on landings more..an don't sweat the small stuff.

Hopefully it is all on the main level? Not like a basement job in the city we did, that was a joy.

    Good for you, Hypo!

You might consider adding to your usefulness with the bank guys by offering to get rid of the other stuff that isn't going to pay (like getting rid of the CRT's) for a fee. That makes it closer to one stop shopping/less hassle for them.

Now get out there and punch them in the face!! ;>)

Keep us posted on how it goes!! Sounds like a winner!!

Glad I entertain, but I was serious about some of that post! I leave it up to you, the dear reader to figure out which was the serious an which was the not..

Good luck with it my friend.

Hotels are an excellent source for scrap or clean outs if that is one thing, if like anything you approach them right.

Sounds great, sounds like all more than scrap value, could probably find a buyer wholesale for the fridges. Note: all the tvs will most likely be thrown in a dumpster anyway so maybe scrap on site and leave glass tube a bit less for them to dispose, none for you to dispose of.

Definitely scrap out those TVs if you can! If the CRTs are gonna stay there anyway and be thrown out later I don't see any harm or reason not to take the guts out and screw them back up.

Lot better then being told to use the stairs.

I have a couple as clients. Mine do not throw out tubes, they donate them to the local thrift stores. I know it's hard to believe but some people actually still use the things. They sell at a lot of places here, but hey..as always..YMMV.

Sirscrapalot - Knows a thing or two about hotels.

Well, I would but there is a guy who rents out the bar area and he made a deal with the bank to take anything they couldn't get rid of through me in exchange for a couple months off the rent. Buuuut.....there won't be much when I'm done hehe(except them stupid tv's!!)

Thanks, I got around 5 more leads from this guy as well, they are all in his "upper" social group and they all work with REOs and rental properties etc.
