Very cool!! I'd love to see that much brass and alum around here. Maybe its a population threshold or length of settlement, just don't see big brass and alum pieces at garage sales around here...

P.S. In my metro of about 200K, there are neighborhoods I know that I will find not much of the things that I like to resell or have scrap value. Most of the whole south side of the city is basically a picking wasteland. Nice income neighborhoods but most of what they have in rummage sales is cheap decorating junk from name brand department stores. The older parts of town and median to below household income neighborhoods is were I find some better stuff (for me at least).

I found out yesterday from the CL ad that a small town about 6+ miles from where I work was having a spring "clean out day" so I cut out a bit early from work and went over there. Don't know how much it had been picked over (did see at least one other scrapper) but if I would have had a truck & trailer, I could have come home with at least 10 washers & dryers and 10+ big tvs, among other stuff.

Here's what ended up in the Buick:

    2 computers (appear complete)
    1 flat screen tv
    1 small tv
1 older tv, possibly front for "steam punk" ebay but maybe not old enough
    1 older rug shampoo-er
    2 smaller 12-volt vehicle batteries
    1 de-humidifier.

Still had some room in the car but probably enough to keep me going for a while breaking down. MOst of the town people were at school track meet so not a bunch of people watching (at least that I could see) me in my business casual pulling stuff out of the piles.

ALmost nothing from the 50+ house new section of town except of a couple of giant tvs. All of what I got was from the older part of the burg. One guy had a nice pile that he could have easily taken into the yard by itself: washer & dryer set, 2 dishwashers, assorted couple of mufflers and other auto metal, 4 big tvs (this is where I got the 2 puters and the flat screen from). But I suppose he doesn't think its worth his time...
