PCI Fingers Gold Recovery - Success

    Aloha everyone,

Its been awhile since I've been active in the forums, however I wanted to share my first experience turning computer scrap to gold!

Below is a picture of the gold recovered from PCI Finger Boards

Unfortunately, I don't recall the exact weight of the fingers (I wrote it down, somewhere ). Please be aware that the process can be extremely dangerous Please use all caution if you decide to try this (I learned the hard way,

The whole process took around 3-5 days to complete (mostly waiting). The yield was 4g 24kt gold. The process and end result was incredibly enjoyable and satisfying. Turning scrap to gold was quite the adventure!

My next project will be turning these IC chips into gold:

If any of you have specific questions feel free to drop me a PM or reply here.

    Best Regards

While I congradulate you in your recovery, discussions on refining and the use of chemicals is discouraged here due to the dangerous nature of the processes. On a side note Urea is not recommended when you want to remove excess nitric. Also do you properly treat the waste solution after you were done?

Do not answer my questions as I posted them to show that there is more to recovery and refining after the process is finished. You may want to check out the Gold Refining Forum if you are interested in gaining more knowledge.

Nice stuff. good for you I remember how excited I was back 25 or so years ago. There are easier ways to refine. I will be glad to share with yo as I'm sure others here have also.. just not on the open forum.

Just was able to see pics of your gold. I doubt that it is pure 24k. Looks like you have a lot of base metals mixed in.
