Some of you will remember that towards the later months of last year one of our clients servers were being stripped of easy and the most valuable of parts.
I suspected some one in the warehouse at the sight because they obviously didn't know the right way to get into the harder one, like Ciscos or older IBMs.
We complained about it but had no grounds in our contract to do any thing about it. but the pilfering stopped so I kind of let it go.
Today at 5:30 5 totes show up in a pick up truck. in the 5 totes were about 45 lbs of memory, 10 lbs of CPUs, various daughter board trays with gold fingers and with this particular contractor mother and daughter boards are rimmed in Gold plate.
2 totes were disappointing one was about 1/2 full of ex al heat sinks and about 40 al covers from Dell servers that usually cover a nice .80 lb copper heat sink (he got away with those) and the last tote with about 20 lbs of ram he tried to process.
A BIG THANK YOU TO AN HONEST CUSTOMER AND A GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP WHO MUST REMAIN NAMELESS.
The employee/thief had gotten his processing info from you tube as I suspected and got half the info he needed. He tried to process the whole ram stick with a home refining process so all he accomplished was totally ruining any value on the sticks and a bunch of sludge he will never figure out how to process. Hope hell be happy sitting home drawing welfare and food stamps. he will never get another security pass.
Semi happy ending (mostly) to a mystery. once again common sense figured this one out.
P.S. He had a mini shade tree processing system set up in the warehouse basement under 6 stories of about 2500 workers.
