    Bad yard, good fence

got two trips into the yard to get rid of some bulk scrap that found it's way home. washers and dryers, metal cabinets a huge ball of chicken wire, computer cases ext and then a trip of AL cans a lot of which were not crushed. Both were taking up room and not in the steel pile but here at home so I like to keep that space open for good stuff.
and the bugs are finally awake here so cans are vamoose store them away from the house.
Made 80 bucks as cans are only paying .35 and steel is still 95/gt.
I picked up this fence someone put in my metal pile a few weeks ago. Instead of tossing it into the scrap pile for a quarters or two at best. I decided to paint them up and see if I could sell them.

The wife posted the pic on our local FB yardsale group (which is working extremely well for me right now)..SOLD in 10 minutes and high bidder is taking all eleven sections and a gate home for $18 a section!
Still got a few left to do but there all prepped ready to paint. Nice way to end the day after two disappointing trips to the scrapyard this morning, had to get rid of some bulk scrap. ahh well win some, lose some
There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man

It's like the groups here on the forum as I understand it.
someone starts a group for local buying and selling, Then people in that area can join up and post items to sell or are In search of.
The "Trick" is to put best offer on items that can bring a little more money if you think there is a demand.
I have sold everything from plastic kids toys, power wheels, windows, lumber, metal, refurbished appliances, clothes and purses.... you name it..
CL is not really used in my area, most posts are in the southern half of the state and not worth the drive in most cases. This has been a blessing from the traditional yard sale or paying for a table at the market, a lot less time involved.

I'm not much for Facebook either. It's a good concept but I just couldn't handle the people on there that have to let you know they are doing their laundry. Or the "look how much better my life is than yours" people.

My wife is on it constantly though. She calls it the FB rummage sale site? Idk.

Anyway it's AWESOME for selling crap. She has sold a bed, kids soccer shoes, clothes, just like a garage sale without the work and hassle. Much safer than CL also.

Short story; my wife does these "vendor shows". She sells a skin care product called Nerium. Other people show up and sell arts and crafts, Tupperware, or whatever. BTW, these vendor shows get organized through FB also. So there is a dude at one of these shows selling stuff. He has 3 pairs of used jeans and 2 t-shirts still in packaging. Well she knows I'm not above wearing used pants, and they look like they will fit my fat ass.

Long story short, she buys the 3 pair of jeans and 2 t- shirts for $15. One pair of jeans is to snugg on me so she sold them on FB for $18.

And that is how you get 2 sets of free work clothes with three dollars in the pocket.

Edit: correction to my story. The 3rd pair of jeans that the wife sold for $18 were not used. Brand new with tags Wranglers for $18.

Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.

    HAHA
Don't you love it when it works out that way.
Even the guy who bought the new jeans for $18 got a deal!
