    The 3 fridges/you ever know/guess the weight

This scrap adventure goes all the way back to New Year's Eve 2014. Was at a small get together 6 couples at a NYE party. Was a good time, drinks, cards, watch the ball drop etc..

One of the people there was the head of the town's Developement Corporation. He is also the mayor lol. Small towns - there is like 6 people that do all the politics haha.

Anyway he tells me they are tearing down an old building on Main Street. There are 3 refridgerators in it, maybe a freezer stuff like that. Asks me if I can pay better than Mardian's (the nearest yard about 30 mi. Away.)

I tell him "no, I'm just a small time middle-man." "I can save you the 60 mile round trip and the labor."

Didn't think much about it for the next 3 months. One day a couple weeks ago the mayor calls, and says they are ready to get rid of this stuff, what can you pay? I'll go look at it.

Check the stuff out, tell them I can't pay anything because of the downturn in the markets. He understands as he is also a general contractor and saves his copper wire.

Well, by the time everything gets torn down, I end up with quite a load!

You never know what 3 refridgerators can turn into.

    So guess the weight.

Hint: there is quite a bit of fluff underneath (siding, sheet). So might not be as heavy as you think.
Hint 2: there are 5 cast radiators that are very heavy, so might be heavier than you think.

    Some non-ferrous:

Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is.

1,950 pds. Those cast iron radiators are worth a lot to redecorators and artists. I have a contact if you are interested. I do not play middle man on these situations, I only connect the buyer and seller. Creates good references from both directions. Good luck.

I don't know what the load weighs, but I sure wish I was closer to you and could get my hands on those vintage refrigerators. I love the old ones and have two that work in my workshop. I can see that one is a Philco, and the other could be Frigidaire. If nothing else, you can sell the emblems from them for more than scrap.
