hi, THR,
For industrial surplus, the place to go to for potential purchasers is the "surplus record" who is a publisher who is the grandaddy of all buy-n-sell publishers. They have been in the game for nearly 100 years and list people who sell surplus equipment from mostly North America but all over the world. I've used them over the years to source big transformers (69,000V) and large electric motors (250hp) with success.
Surplus Record Used Machinery, Machine Tools & Used Equipment Directory
Obviously, these are listings by companies wanting to sell stuff but they possibly are buying, too. Maybe not great pricing but it should be somewhat better than electric motor scrap.
I took a quick look in the listings for AC motors under 50 hp and got 7700 listings. The website will sort by state and here's a few I noted that were not that far from you.
