    So pissed off!

Someone stole some scrap from me, they took an aluminum radiator and one of those copper coils that are wound around the stainless steel cup in a water cooler. I've never had scrap stolen from me before and it makes me so angry. I suspect I know who did it but no way to prove it.

Before I tell you to go with your gut and do something foolish , I would recommend investing in a motion detection camera to help secure your things , I live in a area where anything outside has a 85% chance of walking away . So I store all of my things inside and locked . I'm sorry for your loss let's make it so it never happens again .

I would get some cheap harbor freight surveillance, and like metal said get a motion sensor that lights up your whole yard.

I live in an apartment building, I keep my scrap in the court yard anything that can be chained up I chain to the building and small stuff I keep inside a chained up wagon with a tarp over it, now that this has happened I actually wrapped barbed wire around the wagon, put the tarp back on and a heavy tire on top. I'll look into getting a camera, the super of my building had been talking about getting cameras so I'm sure he wouldn't object.

I was hit hard once , So now understand this .
As you see the person (thief)did not get caught . Realize they know your routine
they also are not done as long as they know your not home & they can't get caught
    they will be back .
It's a reversed concept see we are honest and we find a hot spot and keep going back
till it drys up (hot spot = construction or house clean up ) The problem is YOU ARE the Hot spot to this scrapper thief
if you really look close you might find more is gone then you realize .

What you must do is pile your stuff in such a way the thief needs lots of time . If you leave the good stuff out
for a fast picking it will be gone . pack it away tarp it tires on top low cost metals on top . Make him work for it .
also keep scrap in one spot so camera can be put in that area , If you want to catch them yes you need a camera
cause sure enough they will be back and they don't care if they make you broke .To be honest they are twisted as they think there your partner
taking this but leaving that, they feel power cause they decide what they want and what you can keep . Naturally they want
you to keep scrapping so they can keep taking , have any tools disappeared ?

I once put a note out
"Please stop taking my scrap " it did not work . I figured who it was ,the police questioned him but could not arest but the thieving stopped .
I have my suspicions how it was done . A look out , The thief ,
For 1 and half years little by little . Thousands $$$

This stuff happens all the time. Scrap in our state MASS Ive seen a few drafts that may require us to track vin numbers and serial numbers. Im all set looking for a number on a swing set thats 20 years old and worth 1 dollar or more after I buy do paperwork and transport and break down. But it is what it is. Sin is costing us a fortune. The laws are required to catch the theives but usually the courts well you know the deal. Drugs booze and stuff what can we do.

I feel great knowing we take ids and had vid tapes, shoot I even had a camera on our scale head so I could go back and see weights and scale cameras but it doesnt stop crime or prevent its pain. Yes I feel for you it hurts so much.

Ive been on both sides Ive stolen stuff to make money for ........ and had alot of stuff happen to me. In the end do you believe in Karma or a higher power. jesus broke my chains and now if a person stole from me Id be mad but Id stop pray and ask them "whats really causing this behavior? Thats how you change it. You hold the key. Say a prayer for the person and confront them and ask how can you help to change their life. THis is how we stop it happening. It takes your pain and sets it aside and it may take an enemy and turn into a friend or good customer.

Its America you could go do anything legal and punch a hole in wall or slash his or her tires but I keep thinking why what caused it. I bet it was sin done to the person that stole. They are in pain.

Wait sorry its a scrap fourm. Go empty their gear oil and do it clean. Now you got them back. THey wont know for 30 miles. But remember maybe someone is watching I think were getting called up for all our actions one day. This is not how we right wrongs but its how I use to feel. people deserve punishment.

Keep scrapping. Ignore my long posts I have no one to talk to.

There is Gods law , and mans law . If we commit a crime we go to jail . Wile in jail - we can repent - get reborn - be forgiven .
But there is still mans law , so jail you stay .

There is Karma but good people who never did harm , get harm .
It's just a wild world we live in .
The way to stop scrap theft is to stop scrapping , that works BTW
What works best is - Just find more .

Soooo...finding more that can potentially be stolen is best? I mean, i get your concept but that just doesn't make sense in the long run. finding more = more possibly stolen!

Stop scrapping = nothing stolen. Ok. but, find more = more stolen. problem solved how??
