Copper pricing help

The yard I have been using gives me two different prices for copper. Tubing/ pipe is 2.35, and the fine braided wire is only 2.00. Does this sound normal? May be worth shopping around, because I'm starting to get a good pile accumulated.

one last thing, can you get a better rate for having more product/weight?

Tubing would be copper #1 , I'm assuming the fine braided wire is not as thick as pencil lead so it is being classified as copper #2 . If it was thicker it would classify as bare bright and pay slightly more than number 1 . More volume should get you a price bump but all yards are different .

I believe you get less for the fine braided because some is lost when it is melted . Hope this helps

price of #1 #2 varies from yard to yard naturally
All in all it's a game -
for instance
one yard pay less for CU
but pays more on copper bearing
and is not as strict on Aluminum like if a touch of ferris is on it.

So some times it's best to understand the rules of different yards
and prepare what is best to sell to them .

The more I scrap the more I have learned just sell and get more.
What you feel is a loss of $3.00 on one item pales to the gain on another
and giving business to a yard is what develops points on your game card .

Remember scrap only has value cause yards will buy it , with out yards
it's a nasty looking item you need out of you life. Support your yards , give
them business so you continue to have a place to sell ,
let them make the $3
