Thanks for the advice and the info guys. I think I will try craigslist for a week or so and if it doesn't sell I will scrap it out and tear down the hard drives. I have used craigslist to sell a bunch of appliances and it has worked good for me. I live in an area where the population is pretty honest and decent. I know I know, there is always some jerk out there looking to rip people off but, so far I have had good luck. Thanks again guys.

    Someone likes craigslist

    Someone dislikes craigslist

    Agree to disagree.....

    NEITHER OF YOU ARE RIGHT!!!

As for my opinion if it was that pricy new you may be able to sell it for a few hundred, but I like to just scrap stuff and move one. Its all preference so just do what you feel. As someone said may go good seperate for someone making a gaming pc, if not check buyers section and part for scrap!

I have had a few of those NAS machines in the past, including this exact model. It is straight scrap a year ago, doubt that has changed but your welcome to try. The ONLY exception might be the power supplies but since these are proprietary I doubt that too. Rip and strip, on to the next thing.

Craigslist, Backpage, online penny savers and Ebay are all excellent tools in their own right and ALL have their own ways to get ripped off, so just be careful, they are all better than NOT having them available to use.
WI ITAD LLC, IT Liquidation Services, we remarket, buy and sell scrap electronics No customer too large or small!
