You ever think back...

about all the scrap you threw away, or passed over, before you were a scrapper. I do, and its a horrible thought!

use to call a guy down the road to come get mine and wonder where it all came from

I think back 6 years ago when i retired and bought this house and had renovation work done on it they had a hopper full of scrap i would have made a few good bucks then.

Only if I put it in the trash, if placed outside I knew someone took it and it was recycled...

About 12 years ago I threw out 2 40 yard dumpsters full of 25 Pair and cat5 communication cable. I never even thought of scrapping it. My last big haul was over 9000 lbs of cat5e cable. And it was maybe a fifth of what I threw out in those dumpsters.

I just wish I would have got into this sooner like in the late 90's at very least

It hurts even more thinking about the things that were scrapped instead of sold for better than scrap value. Steep learning curve.

I remember giving away a bike, lawn mower, basketball hoop poll, car battery, and pipes away to one of my former employees husband. Then I started scrapping the next year sometime. Oh well

I think of the years more than the money. I did some long rides that could have been more productive with a load of scrap, then working on scrap at home instead of just watching television and other wastes of time.
