I used to use AVON "Skin so Soft" I would mix it with rubbing alcohol and put in a sprayer. I would spray the surrounding work area and lightly on myself. It worked well for me but I did not enjoy the odor. Mike

I have tried for years to find the value in Avon products, now I know bug repellent.

I generally endure the skeeters (to a point). State gov people and the local media always talk about West Nile but I suspect that I probably have the antibodies for it as its been here pretty hard for the last 5-10 years. I ended up getting a bunch of chigger bites, however, back in my little "prairie strip" at the back of my property down against a little creeklet. I was back there trying to gather as many thistle seed heads so there wouldn't be as many next year. The veg is thicker this year after the heavy May-June rains (although July has been pretty dry). Anyway, ended up with a dozen and half chigger bites in my inner thigh and groin. Always such fun scratching the crotch!! Next time I will spray my legs down with deet before going through the thick stuff...

    *Raises hand*

My dad even called me and said he was killing flies left and right in his room. I'm like dude, I just sprayed my whole garage with 'Off' and they are stiff buzzing me while I'm choking to death lol.

Flies seem to be the main culprit these past couple days and not mosquitoes for some weird reason.

I burn the coils and candles when they get bad. Some plants repel them I've been told... Best bet get rid of there water source the best you can.
