start small with a flat rate box, test the waters so to speak.
when you have never shipped it's a little daunting to spend .35/lb + on a 1/2 ton + up front, not knowing how things work.
just like first trip to the yard, you don't bring 500 lbs of coppers unsorted
once you have a solid footing and knowledge with your payout ticket and all the info here.. then send out the pallets

certainly always test the waters, but in a few buyers cases, they have a 100 testimonials form here alone. The OTHER thing is....some will pay for shipping UP FRONT and just take it off your check....not a whole lot of risk there.
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell

I would agree that with certain buyers, you should feel comfortable jumping right in and sending pallets. I recently did with one. Sent 2 loads, 5 pallets in total. Very pleased with the results.

Figure out shipping price to a buyer here, than any item that makes no sense shipping (due to cost) take to Rockaway. And it sucks to hold onto something and then the bottom falls out when you need it most! Good Luck. As for your metals I would get rid of all your bulky stuff Iron and everything lower prices first, then start moving up. This way you have less **** laying around! Why wait for steel to go up, keep copper last as you were hoarding it!

Been watching Rockaways prices for some time now. they are nice people but just cannot compare with a few of the buyers on this forum. even with the shipping costs i believe you would still make out better
breaking it down and shipping it to.... well we all know who , anyway I do about 5 -6 large 65 lb boxes at a time and get a nice big fat check every time. easy , shipping taken off after total so no out of pocket costs. Gotta love it. Good luck whatever you decide.
