I'm still holding out. Hope I don't regret it. Had 2 loads in '09 that if I had held them even one year, I would have been ahead by $3,600.
Good luck Hoss! And don't scare us like that...![]()
TheHoss, if you could, let me know what you get per lb at your yard. Iron/tin dropped to 8.5 cents at mine (Pacific in Nampa). Not sure what they're giving on the rest since I'm hoarding it.
I would be curious to know if prices are different among the Pacific yards. I might have to give them a call.

IS, my yard is the same as yers. I whimped out, and only cashed in all my clean copper. I got 8.5 for my tin, unfortunately, same as you. Had 21 pounds of clean "field copper". Got $2.80 a pound for it, better than nothing.
Ever pick up much brass? I'm getting quite a bit of it from my brother who runs a sprinkler repair business. That's another source people can look at for scrap. He brings home huge valves that froze/split.
Also does foreclosure clean outs on the side and finds a lot of scrap that way.

Hmmm, good idea. I have maybe 2 pounds, nothing to talk about really. I've been thinking about locksmiths. Maybe they'd be willing to get rid of their old brass junk keys? Its worth a try either way.
