I was just making a joke, yea the sno-kone stands are a big hit around here in the summer with all the lakes close by.

The Motorsports crowd eats them up. Personally, I derby, so I know most of the derby guys within a hundred mile radius. I am in the middle of nowhere, but the nearest town north of me has a drag strip and the nearest town south of me has a circle track, so for me personally, it is really easy to unload a 9" or a GM 8.5-10 bolt with bia and a couple other gem rears. One or 2 calls to one of our area "swap shop" shows & it's gone.

I know the rat rod crowd likes them too, but I don't really run in that circle much.

my favorite is cars for sure. Even though i dont get a whole lot of them. But my favorite metal is cast iron, because its heavy, breaks up real easy and adds up real quick! my least favorite is cutting radial tires off the rim. what a pita

A cheapo Harbor Frieght tire machine with an extra 20 minutes of welding & mods takes care of that.

I like taking a part computers.

air conditioners are nice but the freon sucks

I now enjoy electric motors. Got me a system going to strip them bad boys down to get the copper out.

Other than that, I can't say there is one item I like breaking down more than the others, but if I had to say, anything electronic. VCR/CD/DVD players and computers.

Ok i know this is a no no. But i dont want to see anyone get burned or choke on freon. Condensing units def. my favorite. I reclaim the refrigerant. But if your hard core just scrapping and dont have a reclaimer and your gonna cut the lines anyway. do yourself a favor and pick up a hose or two and stick one end on the service valve and one in a bottle of water. This way if will just bubble through the water rather than gasing you or burning you. But please invest in a reclaimer.

I like tearing motors out of dishwashers at the scrap yard. As long as I have an axe and about 10 seconds of time that the scrap yard guys have their backs to me, the motor is good as mine. Once trashman and I showed up to the scrapyard it looked like dishwasher heaven! 2o minutes later our trunk looked like motor heaven! There was a guy that tried to do it the same way I was, but it wasn't working out for him, so I knocked 1 out for him just to show off and to make him look like a wuss. left with 14 motors that day not including the 1 that went to the wuss guy.

scrap yards rape each customer all day, every day. what goes on the steel pile was paid the steel price. What I find in the (steal) pile costs me at steel price for the weight. Then I go to another yard that pays a better price for motor scrap, who don't give a crap where it came from.

Well the biggest I have done so far is boilers and oh boy the copper pieces are like blocks in them

I will strip them to the frame, selling the aluminum and other goodies, burn the wood that is in there and I am left with a decent utility trailer to use or sell.

Toss a 'wanted' ad on CL. That's how I got a 28 foot camper for free.

Microwaves, then Fridge motors (as we don't have many dehumidifiers) then TV's.
Dishwashers & then engines & washing machines. Ovens.

All in that order, I have no vehicle so I have to carry everything on my back in a sack.
It also takes into account what I find most of.
