Possible mega job of a lifetime fo someone?

The SS United States tied up in Phila . 990 foot long ( props were on deck but gone ) don't know at his time wgmhere the are but were 60k of bronze alloy each and were a secret blend . But by the end of the month it prolly gonna be scrapped . It history but it's been here in philly since 98 and not much done . I've personally heard ****ing was 30 k a month . Papers say 55-60 asbestos removers in a former soviet country before 98 . But maybe not to our standards ( (this I've done) most of the superstructure is Aluminum! But the huge lead paint factor is an issue . When I bought my house I had to sign off on this because of pre 78 construction. So I can assume that . It has 600,000sqft of deck space plus the non ferrous has to be huge ( can be rughed out by Asbuilts ) it was prolly bought for less than 5 m from a cruise line in 99 ? I could possibly ( no bs ) put a J/v together in my area to do this . The news ( it was all over the news this week. And said a broker was retained . I'm looking can't find who even called some . Nada FYI everybody

No it was Announced this week ! Looking for angel investors . I love history . But it's gonna be 300 m to renovate this vessel
And it won't move be tied up kinda thing . I know big construction highway was my thing and I've seen jobs go over 15m so change orders and extras . That's heavy highway . Not prettying op a ship where we want tile instead of wood or instead of walnut we want flame maple etc.so it can get get way outta hand .But it's been tied up in philly ( see it every day) and it don't look good . Just monthly 30- 55,60k a month , they had a 5+ mil gift bot it prolly went to dockage fees etc . The many ropes are 6-8 bux a foot and need to be changed out from time to time . I just want the broker name . And a bunch of RFP/RFI would go out.i know a bunch of heavy players in the Delaware valley from yard owners w/ shredders to dumpster companies to martime construction co. With tugs and barges . We have a scrap pier in Camden wher shred gets exported from but I know the guy in trucking / demo . The guy with the shredder my friend works for . My wife's family has a demo/ scrap co they did a demo on. 60 acre foundry site for the metat , all demo
And environmental and left a level lot wit a 6' perm fence and do water tower demo .So I know the people if it happens on the Delaware River it will prolly be a J/v we even have several Unser dry docks That can handle that vessel . If not send it to India or wherever.

US flagged ships are required to be scrapped IAW US EPA standards. the notorious Bangladesh , Turkish and Indian ship breakers cannot do that. the intent of the law is to stop US companies from dropping their environmental nightmares in other countries

    Thanks HT1!!

I suspect that's one reason why a lot of U.S. ships are no longer U.S. flagged. I doubt the Panamanians and Liberians have such standards. Maybe that's another thing the U.N. can get a "convention" on (hahahahaa!!), to make everyone play by the same rules. Yeah, and I have swamp property in Florida for sale...

Not really, US Flagged ships have to follow US labor laws which makes the crew very expensive But US to US port cargo must be transported on US flagged ships IF the UN wants to do something they need to address" Flags of convenience"
