    Art from waste plastic

Convinced my daughter (13) to try to make art with the useless plastic and random tiny pieces left over from scrapping metal and electronics. I have several large boxes of plastic saved up.. we are thinking of crushing it with my car and making mosaics. Vertical integration, here we come!

Some of the modern white painted floresent ballasts have a row of 7/8th square steel plates in them, heaps as they are stacked.

You need a chisle to break apart the iron core, first you have to peel the backing plate off, then break it apart.

You also end up with about 100gms (1/5th Lb) Copper wire in the common largish ballast.

They can be used as 'Tiles'. Its easy to lay them out and spraypaint them.
