    Ps2 slim/Xbox 360

Does anyone know of or remember a buyer for these consoles? I thought we had one in the buyers section but could not find anything. Thought they would be worth more than just scrap value

There is one about. Perhaps he'll pop in an let you know if he does anything with PS2/360. I know he does the older cartridge games and consoles. I'll nudge him over to this thread.

An if he doesn't...360's can still be sold on Craigslist or eBay. You won't get a huge amount but there is still more then scrap value there, even if sold for parts. A friend of mine just bought a couple for extra parts, as he's modding up one 360 an trying to get a couple others working. Can't help you with PS2 though. Their pretty much outdated in the same vain a N64 is. Folks still play them but their not exactly sought after in my experience. Specially with PS3 being backwards compatible and older games such as GTA III, Vice city, and San Andreas and other titles are being re-released on the PS4. I see them quite a bit at yard sales, PS2's that is. Never with cords or I'd own a few. lol.

Good luck, an I'll poke said buyer to take a peek over here.

    Metalbestos is your man!

The 360 will be an easier sell than a PS2, though, due to the backawards compatibility. I don't deal in consoles much, but sometimes a 360 shows up here (Sometimes they even work!). I've been able to sell them locally, but I've never been able to find a taker on a PS2.

I much prefer the PS2 original over the slim. They are sturdy has hell and it's nice if they've got the FFXI hard drive in them.

PS2's are great, but like was mentioned, they fail easily. I am on my 3rd, and have 3 spare ones for parts kicking around. I've also got 2 broken 360's, but haven't gotten any takers on buying them yet. Unfortunately they both have the same broken part so I can't just swap and get one going

360's are a tough fix and sell item as Microsoft put in securities to not allow them to be "fixed"
It was to deter modding the machine and going online with it
They can be fixed but any of these securities are broken and the machine goes online and it gets picked up, it will be permanently banned from that service.
For example swapping a broken disk tray with one from another machine will break one of these securities as there is a code marrying each board to each disk tray.
Talking with a very good computer tech he says there may be a chance that they only used so many of these codes so it may be possible to get lucky... take it for what it's worth

If you want to fix them to sell to someone who has no intention of going online EVER that is fine.
wanted to put this up for anyone considering fixing them and their customer calls a week later with "Problems".
There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man

used to be able to use third party storage like an external HD
Then all of a sudden games and there digital content "required" 360 drives...then larger storage drives for the 360 appeared..lol

So much hate for Xbox, yessh people, it's not windows! :P

Far as being a knock off of the ps2...the xbox(original) was more powerful in all ways compared to the ps2. The 360 was a bit more powerful then the PS3. The ps4 an the Xbox one are pretty much even from what I've seen with their current specs. One is no better then the other is my point. Unless your someone who only goes with one or the other. Link below is to an article from Popular Mechanics comparing the Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube specs.

Xbox Vs. GameCube Vs. PlayStation 2

Now I don't care what someone plays. You like the PS(whichever one) or the Xbox..that's great! I also don't care if I drive a ford or a chevy. Whatever makes you happy.

Let's keep it real when it comes to consoles though. Both have their good an bad. An no..I don't think it's worth 400 bucks for a console. For that price I can get a decent start on a gaming rig, depending on how I'm buying it. I can't speak on what NH is talking about with modding them an such, as I have quite few friends who've modded their 360's an PS3's. They all are still online playing, either PS Network or Xbox live. Xbox's do suck tho when it comes to opening them. I truly despise breaking one open.

For every 50 complaints I hear about the xbox(Orignial, 360, one) I hear 50 more saying how awesome it is. Same for the PS(3 or 4).

Some folks have to choose a side, me I enjoy them all.

For the record I'm not a Xbox mark. An owned a ps3 for a good number years along with my xbox an 360. Let not act like only Xbox has issues, I know I know..it's the evil Microsoft. Far as I'm concerned they both make a fine product. Sales back that up.

I now return you to your console wars, while people are slamming one side or the other, I'll be off playing ALL the consoles.

Sirscrapalot - An your welcome for the quote.

you're response intrigued me so I did a little research as your buddies should be banned with one or two reports from other players.
As I was poking through the forums over at xbox and come to find out all support services for the 360 no longer exist as of June 1st this year
so mod hack and swap parts all you want
previously all someone had to do was report modding and if the support team found evidence that account and machine would be toasted permanently
same with swapping parts you would get pinged and a message would appear saying the machine was under temporary ban and go to Microsoft for help.

so an apology from me as my info was a little outdated.

well that being the case I have several machines that should be sell able now

    No Apology needed NH.

You still can get banned for modding or hacking, but now it's if your caught in game. At lest in regards to GTA V online. I can't speak for their other games though. I've never modded a console, never had a need. I do all my online gaming through my computer, an well..if I want to mod or hack that's the platform I'd do it on. I'm not one of those kind of folks though. To much of a hassle for no gain, or gain that could be taken from you. Plus..being banned via pc usually means having to rebuy a game to get around the ban. I don't need all that drama. lol.

Oh an yes..Metal is who I was referring to in my first post! He is awesome, an knows his games. I can attest to that, as I bug him regularly with nerd talk about video games.

The Grand Theft Auto Online bans are for the game, not the console though, right?

I left a video in the Clubhouse showing what would happen if I tried gaming

I'd also probably not get much work done!

You can be banned from the consoles. From my understanding it's rare though. Cause you can get around the ban if your console is modded. A buddy of a good friend of mine gets banned every other week it seems, he comes back each time, with just a different name. He likes to give out money an do silly things like spawn an army of Jesus's with rocket launchers.

PC bans that are permanent result in you having to buy a new copy of the game, as each copy you own is tied to your Rockstar Social account. Console players don't have that restriction.

I miss my PS2 on some days. Smackdown Vs. Raw! /sigh

Everyone also keeps forgetting that Microsoft no longer supports or repairs 360s so if your 360 needs repair, it may be difficult to do so. I met a lady through Ebay that stated her shop takes in so many broken 360s she sells them for parts in bundles of 10. The slim might be a hard sell also as the slim had overheating issues as I believe they removed the cooling fan so they could shrink the height of the case. I'm vested in consoles as much as a few others it seems.
