    Aluminum SHMRC

Does any one know the weight on a 30ft kraft food service reefer trailer all aluminum. Tia.
Cant post pics but have some of the demolition/dismantling job. Im thinking at least 6,000lbs of sheet and extrusion. Bobcat can lift 5,000lbs easy and can not lift this unit. I have been doing this for 10 years now I run my own business for 5 years now(StrongHouse Metal REC.) and know what I'm doing and handling. But getting various opinions before i make the haul never stops or gets old. This is not at my metal yard so I can not weigh it. This was a pickup and on-site demo job. So I will be hauling in straight to the shredder from there and would like to know about how many lbs. before I get there. I wish I could post the crazy pics and videos need more posts thanks.

For comparison sake; I scrapped a 40' van-type semi-trailer that had aluminum rib walls and exterior sheeting but steel floor structure, tandem axles, 8 tires. It weighed 12,000 #'s. A full-size ThermoKing or Carrier reefer unit weighs around 1000 #'s. Your 30' trailer might go 8,000 #'s. Please let us know!

Kool thank you. Thats nice to hear. Im really shooting for the 8,000lbs mark but i NEVER over estimate weight. Thats a bad mistake in the scrap business. Always under estimate. So thats why my low estimate is 5,000lbs and my high is 6,000lbs. I do agree with 8,000lbs but i wont count on it. I will be making the haul monday 12/28/15. Yeah this is just the box. No axles or tires. The floor is heavy gauged extrusion. Outside is sheet' roof is sheet, it has one steel double door in the back. All the studs in "walls" are exrusion and the bottom of the box trailer under the exrusion floor is extrusion beams about 2 1/2 ft. Apart all the way down. I have done 40ft reefer semi trailer complete. That was about $5grand. And a few others. e.g. 30ft.... I had an extrsion army trailer that was 14ftx10ftbthat was $650 not including the axles. I sold those to someone.$120. (It had goodyear airplane tires) that was kool.... I network alot of things instead if scrapping it if its worth it$$$. How ever prices were up epecially prep iron. I will post the outcome of this job asap.
