I have seen these. Make sure that you find out the replacement blade cost before going into one of those.

I figured they used utility knife replacement blades. I like the idea but don't see them for sale anywhere but ebay. I can't find pricing even on their own site.

If it takes a utility knife blade then give it a whirl. What is the cost on a unit?

If someone gets one that works really well, maybe we could negotiate a bulk deal with the makers of either one of them. The BBQ group I belong to is so big that we have had nice negotiated deals on several items throughout the years. We would need to ba a little larger though to make any kind of deals like that.

so far im really liking it! its harder on the smaller wires but on the big stuff it zips right threw it! not trying to pick it apart but i had a hard time mounting it because my bench corners dont stick out. so i had to nail a small piece of wood to my work bench and then drill a hole threw the wood, then mount in there...

What's the smallest wire it'll take? And will it work with stranded as well as solid core?
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I have that stripper. On my 2nd actually since I lent the 1st to a buddy and he liked it so much he bought it off me.

On stranded, I find it's best to set the blade to where it cuts most of the way, but not touch the wire, then pull it apart. Otherwise it tends to catch in the strands and makes it hard to pull through.

Agree with Idaho. Set the depth just right, it works great on stranded.

i put some inch thick insulated aluminum wire threw it yesterday that was all twisted and it actually did better then i thought it would. in some places it was actually cutting into the aluminum and the blade is still sharp.

What kind of blade does it use? Is it that big pike coming down from the top? If so, what do you do when it gets dull? Replace or sharpen?
