I keep the good ones and bag up the china ones to sell at our garage sale. People always buy tools at a garage sale.

I am in such a habit of scouring the ground for money, I get annoyed if I go for a few days without finding anything. best find this year so far was a 1959 silver quarter. 2 yrs. ago I was on a motorcycle trip, 5 guys, we stopped after a rainstorm off the road in a gravel parking lot to take a leak. In the water puddle I spotted $1. the guys took off, I looked around, ended up with $61 in the various mud puddles...have a drawer I toss coins in I find, since the last trip to the bank, I'm at $190 rolled, and more in the drawer. people laugh when I pick up pennies but they add up.
best place is parking lots where they plow the big snow piles. when it melts lots of cool stuff and money. usually paper bills are only pieces. have several pieces of bills, even half of a $20...

I believe that if you have 51℅of a part bill, you can turn it in and get full value for it.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

You have to have two serial numbers on the bill. Then you have to send them into the Department of Treasury for them to decide. But first try big national banks.

Another nice find last Sunday. In addition to everything else I have going on, I enjoy competing at team roping jackpots. I was at an OTRA competition and was walking my horse to the arena, and saw some folded bills on the ground. I picked them up, looked around to see if anyone might be looking for them (I would have returned them), then stuffed them in my pocket when I saw there was no one in the area. I was thinking that since it could be entry fee money, there could be several $20 in there, and maybe a $100. I kept my ears open to anyone talking about lost money so I could return it if I had a chance, but heard nothing. When the competition was over (unfortunately did not do any good competing), I unsaddled my horse and pulled out the folded bills. My dreams of several $20 and maybe a $100 or two disappeared when I saw that it was one $1 and 5 $5. That told me it was not entry fee money, as the entry fees were more than $26. Still, cannot find fault with $26. Keep your eyes to the ground.
In retrospect, I probably should have talked to the announcer and had them announce if anyone has lost money to come see me, and I can return it if they describe what denominations it consisted of. I was just too concerned about someone who did not lose it saying they did, and getting lucky with the denominations. And shortly after finding it I started concentrating on the competition and did not really think about it anymore.
gungatim - I feel the same way, I feel like I need to add to my found coins total. I guess we are both a little strange in that respect. I guess I kind of do it a little different than people who just hoard their found money and turn it in later. What I do is every time I find $1 worth, I put all the coins in with my other change to be rolled and taken to the bank, and replace it with a gold presidential dollar. That way whenever the time comes for me to do something with it, it will be a lot easier to count and roll the $1 coins than it will be to count and roll the hundreds (and maybe thousands) of small change.
