Picked up a small load from a Craigslist ad. Ended up with about 5 lbs of mixed wire and cords. A printer and a old digital camera. An older Pentium 4 tower and a few powered speakers. Also got what I first thought was a scanner, turns out it was an old laptop.
IBM PS/2 Model L40 SX ; powers and boots up

There is also a double wound copper coil in it. It is not easy to split like a MW coil, but it is better than shred.See if you can get the batteries out of that sucker while it is in the bed of your truck. That is where all the weight is.
Would love to know how many and what kind of batteries they are so post some pics

I will also add that I can buy them at garage sales for $1 to scrap. I have gotten some monsters, and it is cheaper to buy batteries for them than it is to buy a new UPS. I have my desktop and modem and printer hooked to one, my wife's desktop hooked to another, and my TV and cable gear hooked to another. Number one, it offers protection from spikes and brown outs on the stereo and other electronics. Two, it gives a temporary power to keep the stuff from just clicking off when we have a momentary interruption. Here is the UPS I have running the entertainment items in the living room. 1000 watts with two batteries, it will run the equipment for an hour or so...

I ended up fully scraping out that UPS. It was heavy as hell and that was WITHOUT batteries. I was a little bummed when I saw that it had no bats in it but once I saw how big the transformer and the coils were... I got over it. lol

I got a chance to pick up another load from my "honey hole" barn cleanout. I took my trailer to haul the printers because i knew i wasn't going to be able to unload them before dark. The printers i got from the first load have been broken down and this weekend i plan to continue with load 2.
I continue to clean and research the terminal units. Most look to be good candidates for resale to a collector and/or refurbishment.
The printers i have decided to just scrap out fully. Most of the plastics are broken in some form and moisture has rusted all exposed steel. Large telcom boards with the occasional gold ceramic IC has made things interesting. Many heavy transformers and stepper motors are the gravy.
Im looking at at-least one more load of this type of material possibly in 2 or 3 weeks from now. This will be it for the printers and terminals from this ONE room. I will be returning this fall to help continue the cleanout of the top 2 floors of this barn. Possibly a ton of smaller, more interesting items for the future. More to come, stay tuned.

Still need the timber, run new wire from kit, clean up brakes and come up with a winch mount for a light duty winch I have
Once done, I already have 3 cars I need to haul in. That should pay for the upgrades.

Slap a piece of sheet steel on top of the tongue just behind your jack and bolt winch to that

You have some high dollar keyboards, even if they aren't fully functional. And some valuable apple stuff too. Apple collectors are crazy and pay big money. If you think an old apple is in bad shape, it's worth looking up every card out of them and even selling as-is untested...

Got a small load during a clean-out this week and got an old tower. Interesting chip. I have never seen a i486 that wasn't ceramic. Anyone know anything about this chip? rare? common?
With me only doing e-scrap for around 2 years now, i have hardly "seen it all" but every now and then, i find something that makes this so fascinating.

I got one like this recently. I still have it laying around somewhere. My guess is these type aren't the "common" ones, but I do see them around. I've only been doing scrapping of electronics on a large scale for about 7 years now, so I know I haven't seen nearly anything.

The deck of my trailer is done and its first load was delivered late yesterday. Also decided to turn in all my transformers and motors due to space. I also had a few car batteries laying around that were shot.
Totals:
Car w/engine / Tin shred = 2540# @ 166 GT = $188
Electric Motors/ Transformers = 353# @.23 lb = $81
Dirty Alum = 68# @.12 lb = $8
Batteries = 104# @.30 lb = $31
Total= $310
This Payday more than paid for the upgrades to my car trailer. Time to make some money
This is a little more than a years worth of collecting Transformers and small steel case motors from various electronics

I cleaned up the shop and a little around the back door area. Felt I had a bed full enough to do a small load to the the yard and hit a burger and cocktail with the misses on the way home.
Prices seem stale. I've been trying not to hold material just to wait for the market anymore. If I have enough for a full bed and/or trailer, and have a reason to go "that way", Ill do it.
Well, anyways, this is what I brought in with prices. Enjoy
Tin = i tossed on top a few PC cases and bunch odds and ends just to round out the load
