What do you do with them. The wire I got dumster diving. Its a blue telephone wire from office. I cut open and has 5 very thing insulated wire inside

Christmas lights as is have there own category.
If you cut off the bulbs and harness (get copper content for them) and the rest can go as #2 insulated wire

Phone wire cut the ends off (ends can go as gold connectors) then I get #2 insulated wire for it.

Christmas lights usually have their own category (lowest of the low). As Hobo said, cut the bulbs off to get better price.
The other wire you mentione is either cat 5, cat 6 or cat 6e. Some yards have a Telco category for this which is higher than #2 insulated. Recovery is estimated at 48 percent, where typical #2 is 38 percent.

I stripped off the outer blue tubing from some telephone cable and removed the white star shaped divider that was in the tube and the 8 single strand wires came in at over %80 Copper.

If you get a 'Insulated Copper wire %80+ " price, its good money.
I made a stripper from stuff that was laying around, it took ten odd minutes to make it.
The outer shield came off very easyly because I just tied one end of the cable to a part of the porch and wound it out.
The lengths were about 15-20 metres long, and did them in one 'run'.
The shorter bits I did by hand.
It saved a lot of space, 3 sacks into 1 1/2. Near 50kg of insulated 80%+ Copper wire.

I now strip the outer of Coaxal aerial cable to get the Copper shielding wire with the stripper too. Its worth it.

I've sold blue "phone" cable as #2 insulated Cu here (last load such wire was 50 cents a pound). The maint. electrician folks at work are pulling lots of blue stuff out of various areas and its going into the dumpster. I cornered the facilities manager during the winter and asked why scrap value stuff was being thrown away. He said he'd check into it. I guess he never did. A waste...
