    dam you not copper wire

I just got back from curb shopping since spring clean up. Nice vacum cheap electrincs. Cords. And stumble upon nice little role of white wire. Its dark out. So throw in car. Get home slice end. Magnet test. Nope not copper. Well at least I checked before strip all

i once picked up some wire that looked for sure like it was copper but the magnet stuck to it
upon closer examination, it was copper coated on the outside but the inside was steel.

give yourself enough time you will be able to spot likely copper clad like a blood hound especially the 5/8 ground rods the everyone falls prey to once

the other one you will see is brass shafts that have been left in salt water the water leaches out the zinc, and the shaft looks like old copper, ask yourself "why would anyone make a copper shaft" they wouldn't
