I would say yes, I do because I don't get different price on grades of Al. Of course dirty Al is different. In the end it all depends on the yard you sell to, they should tell you the different prices on Al if there are any differences. You need to ask when you go to the yard. If they are not helpful talk to the supervisor or go to a different yard.

Aluminum cans are made from two types of Aluminum AA3004 is used for the cans "body" and AA5182 for the top. Aluminum Beverage Cans are made from Aluminum Alloy Families, so are aircraft parts and many other things. Fortunately the scrap business is not as simple as "It's all aluminum, right?, so just put it all together". As already said, it really depends on what your yard/scrap buyer needs and how they want it sorted. Defiantly will cost you money if you mix Aluminum cans with other grades of scrap aluminum most of the time (not always), as UBC (Used Beverage Cans) is one of the highest grades of scrap commodities traded! UBC scrap is a "closed-loop" recycled aluminum scrap, used over and over again for the same thing - A Aluminum Beverage Can!

You need to check with the yard to see what the prices are on each. My yard will take them together, but I will be losing money as AL cans are priced higher.

My yard used to classify it as "Old Dirty Sheet" on the price list and I would laugh every time I saw it. Can are priced separately but are usually very close in price.
