    Glad I stopped for coffee

Left for the yard this morning and stopped in the DD that's on the way. It's one that's part of a double building 4 or 5 unit each strip mall so you have to drive around back to enter the drive thru. Notice a vacuum handle sticking out so I figured I'd stop for 10 seconds to grab it. Open the lid and there's 4 vacs, an old "wood grain" plastic body humidifier, a couple small items, and best of all, a gumball machine. It definitely has some change in it. Hard to tell how much since the gumballs make as much noise as the quarters, lol, but sounds like there's at least 5 bucks worth. So stopping for coffee paid for itself and then some.

And as a bonus, on the way back, I got a call for a pickup which happened to be 2 blocks from the red light I was sitting at. Definitely a good start to the morning.

Good score I've been doing some runs up to the council tip and the amount of ppl that are taking metal and electrical items in definitely not a place for the scrapper.

Depending on what kind of machine it was you may have been able to have made a nice profit if you did not damage it too much getting it open. A few years back I bought an entire stock from a guy that went out of business. cleaned them up and tripled my money on those babies ( over 50 of them)
I have two I kept for myself in my family room , they make a nice display nest to the jukebox.

Not to mention you could fill them up with candy and pay your kids with quarters for doing chores around the house. Mike

Otto - the gumballs had to be quite old. Dropped from a foot or so off the floor, they shattered like glass. Lol.

Hurrikane - I like to think anything I pick up is "thrown away money" I always tell people scrap is the closest you can come to free money without breaking the law. Lol.

Kavlin - I thought about resale for half a second. But right now my business is growing faster than I can break stuff down. I work along a full time out of my parents 2 car garage. Which at the moment, is about a 1/8th car garage. Lol. It was a semi newer plastic top so definitely not an antique. I'm sure I could get more than scrap but don't have the time or space to get it.

Miked - definitely thought about saving it for the daughter when she's older. But see above paragraph. Lol. No time or space for saving. Plus, if I want to go that route, my dad has some old glass top 5 cent machines buried away somewhere. I can always dig those out.
