ok i took some stuff in today

i had the guy weigh the copper from the ac tubes first so i knew the lbs it was 16lbs of #1. the ali sheet was 11lbs so if thats true whats the percentage of weight in copper? it was a total of 6 rads. also he said i had to cut off the ends on ali rads i thought you could just leave them on? do you get a better price for cutting them off?

breakage what is that? 26lbs it was a lawnmower block with everything still on it except the blade he gave me steel price why?

26lbs of copper #1 got $41.60 has anyone else found a yard that gives you #1 price for ac tubes? all the other yards i went to just gave me #2 for them is this bad?

    9lbs copper #2 got $13.50

11lbs ali sheet got $2.75 i thought you could get ali rad price for this i have before at a different yard that closed.

prices are $1.50 a lb for #2 and $1.60 for a lb for #1 they seem to be holding what are the chances they will go up in the winter?

Remove any steel ends from Cu / Alum Raids or coils so you get a better price!
As for a % divide the weights you have and you will figure it out.

Breakage can be an item that has mixed metals (dirty), I would have gotten at least dirty cast alum price or Alum Transmissions price for the motor with the blade. He gave you steel price because he could...

AC tubes (the copper line only) by me would be #2 copper

    9lbs copper #2 got $13.50

11lbs ali sheet got $2.75 i thought you could get ali rad price for this i have before at a different yard that closed.

Clean Alum Radiator by me can be clean sheet (alum) or clean alum raids price is about the same. No copper tubes in them correct?

Better chance of you asking more questions than the price to go up! LOL

The ends have soldered joints, solder is considered a contaminate and downgrades the copper to #2 grade.

Your metals might all seem to be number one and most likely are but all it takes is one thing to change that to number two. I was selling brass/copper radiators recently. I had stripped off all the steel and plugs. Or at least I thought I did. The guy tried to downgrade what he paid me on the entire pile because I missed one 1/4 inch steel plug that was in where the petcock had been. I removed the plug. It was hand loose. The guy had to then pay me for clean radiators. If he had not I would have gone elsewhere. He is not the only game in town. If there is ever any question don't sell to that place. Take your stuff and leave. Look it all over and check for even the smallest piece of contraband the place might have tried to use to lowere what they pay you. Where I sell here in Mesa they are not as nit picky as some can be. The steel plug would not have mattered.
