Got a new potential ongoing client

Got a call a couple of days ago from a commercial electrician from my craigslist ad. Said they were renovating a building, and had to replace light fixtures. I thought he said about 60, but maybe he was talking about something else, or I just flat misunderstood. Went by the building to pick up some in my truck and see where it is so I can go by later with my trailer, and there they were. Over 200 of them, about 2/3 of them with the aluminum lattice work in them for efficiency. I called him up to make sure they were all suppose to go, and he said yes. Plus he ended up with saying he would have more in the future if I wanted them, and I said "keep my number, I am your man". Craigslist ads can sometimes take a while, but they will start working. This gives me now 4 clients who will call me when they have something to be picked up.

Since scrap prices tanked I have stuck with regulars. My competition has all but dried up leaving me and a few others in the area but I am the only one who can haul tonnage in one load. I have three apartment complexes and one appliance store that call me at least weekly. I will once in a while see a free ad on Craigslist that is worthwhile so I go pick it up but only if it's really close and a lot. Today for free and close by I was given 12 four drawer heavy duty filing cabinets and 6 two drawer ones plus 12 really heavy office chairs. After talking to the guy he also gave me a 1998 Jeep Cherokee that runs and it has a clear title. It has a little rust since it's from Minnesota. It will make a great mud bogger. .

Surprised that the appliance store does not take them in themselves. I may have to hit a few up and offer them a percentage payment, it would save them from messing with them. Thanks for the idea.

I've done that 3-4 times this year where there's a sink vanity (usually resin) out for someone to take. Might make a couple bucks out of the plumbers brass and copper on it but then I have to get rid of bulky empty resin piece. I've now donated then to the local habitat re-use store and take the tax credit donation for it. Fairly easy money....
