Got a call to pick up a few towers and there monitor for a distribution company a few days ago. Called the guy to pick up the stuff today and it ends up being a pallet full of tower, monitors, battery backups, and handheld scanners. Best part of it all was its free and I picked up another business account for scrap.

if the battery backups are not worth reselling, the batteries might go as car batteries at the scrap yard
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.

Battery backups aren't a great resale as new ones are preferred for making sure they function right. And I don't think it works

I've sold quite a few APC CS500's I picked up for usually between $1-3 per unit. Ended up selling some with, and some without, batteries but my average ROI was around 2000-3000% (usually sold them for 39.99 or 49.99 with battery). So it all depends on the brand of battery backup's you get. APC are by far the best selling. I've sold rack mounted one's and made a killing on those as well. It's a matter of how much time, and what you want get out of it.

I think the consensus here among us here in the states is that CRT's are to be avoided like the plague.
There's been a strong global initiative building to clamp down on the irresponsible disposal of lead & mercury. The CRT's have both. They cost much more to dispose of properly than you would ever get out of them in scrap metal & circuit boards.
You really need to be set up to process thousands of them AND get government subsidies to make it a paying proposition.
If you dig through some of the older threads on CRT's i think it will give you a better idea of what's been going on here over the last couple of years. Major changes in how things are done.
