    A Take chance day

Once in a wile I take a shot at what the town has to offer . So I start my morning with about 125 pounds of metal in the Ranger
hit 3 dumpsters end up with a decent load (for the ranger ) nets me $53
Then wile I'm in the town near Weizmann's I found two old ( about 60 years old ) file cabinets
Got permission loaded first one net me $49 loaded next one then back to yard for the third time net me $52
Yes these were heavy, I took draws out to help make the cabinet lighter but lucky I got help from a bystander
and the second one got help from the guy who put to the curb ( he was happy to see them gone) I could not have put them in alone
with out ripping a gut .
These kinda days are special , head out with $7 value in truck but come home with $150

I hope you not tell the wife. Around here, if you told the wife you would have left with $ 7.00 and had nothing in the morning. Congratulations.
Give back more to this world than we take.

Copperhead, I'm gald you had a good day and the steel prices up there are in good shape!!! Those old filing systems were made for some serious wear!! You're a hard working dude and hope you didn't put your back out getting those beasts loaded. I hope you enjoyed a nice hot shower to relive the bod and had a beer. We know P76 had one, probably in your honor!!

I never ask for help - I'll shimmy an item near truck then tilt , then some how I lift and give a push .
But these I gave a lift but the push - Nope - I bless the help from a stranger & I will pay forward
as I have in life .
Then I got in a metal frenzy, You know that thought of how am I gonna do this ( the second one )
it was just as heavy & I want to earn !! So some times you gotta humble up and ask for help .

Scrapping as you age changes - slowly - You think wow I used to push a Frig out of a dumpster or that massive item what ever .
It culminates to memories that are really odd . Like a clothes washer I dismantled at the curb to fit in an already loaded mini van
My mind is full of these events that are kinda, street Rat but there is a pay day with each visit to yard from $25 to $800 and countless in between, it seems I will never stop scrapping .
My wishes are simple like a bigger truck, nice trailer, a power winch, eventually opportunity will show up
Id like to find a low cost horse trailer .A small one can hold 6000 pounds .
Who knows prices go up and down . I think the market is at a good spot
,high but not to high . When the market goes unrealistic eventually you have a crash
A nice even keel is best . Prices paid that make it worth to do but low enough to keep out
others who just see a fast buck . I came into scrapping when every one discovered it ,I often took what was at the bottom like TV's , Vacuums , I once used a spread sheet to estimate how many TV's I took apart in this career I figured about 8000 & still have a back log of yolks to one day finish , of course I still do up a TV now and then but I do drive by some (leave for the next guy )
Still those items I handled were good money.
I am not a huge seller but still a consistent seller of metals . I am here to sell wile many have gone there way
