Nice setup Mulder! (That was my favorite show as a kid)
Our setup is not just ram, I want to clarify that a bit. Those stations are primarily ram but each install represents a socket and/or chipset. What that means is ram, cpus and different generations of graphics cards can all be tested, and burned in, it also means I can set up a configuration I plan to sell right there on the bench that I plan to sell, do some benchmarking and things like that, think of it as a multistation test bench. I can't show the completed picture, as it's proprietary, essentially we are set up to test all incoming batches off of this single table with the exception of motherboards and power supplies. (at least for desktop and server PC parts). Under the bench we placed a APC 2500 watt power conditioner that only needed a new fuse and 4 standard size ups batteries which I had already. I will show you guys our power conditioning setup later on.
The riser board is set up with atx-e on the left and two hp setups on the right, there will be a 1150 haswell setup and the 2011 config is actually a hp server that accepts R, E and U ram...it came to me by a forum member, so thanks for that!
WI ITAD LLC, IT Liquidation Services, we remarket, buy and sell scrap electronics No customer too large or small!
I agree its amazing how many diff types of equipment you have to have to test all the parts that come in........I give up every so often and get rid of everything then start over again accumulating stuff I may need in the future.........Either way nice job and glad to see yet another forum member still hard at work......There is a core group of guys here who just "get it" and I think we have prospered
I like the clock but I have to say I've never seen one like it and that's with a little over 20 years in the Marine Corps. Of course after Maine Corps boot camp I never did think in civilian time again.
I like your shop. Mike
"Profit begins when you buy NOT when you sell." {quote passed down to me from a wise man}
Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
Hey Mikeinreco that "leaning tower of Pisa " in the back there is a work of art. I know how hard is is to stack stuff that high and I tend to have avalanches all the time
so I do appreciate a good tower. Just don't try and play Jenga with it- been there done that- the results are not pretty.
Remember... wherever you go... there you are
Here's a few pictures of my basement, that is currently in the midst of a complete remodel. I still need to skim coat the floor as you can see its pretty pitted, spray for the mold, and paint the walls, and lastly put up some drywall. You can get an idea, or vision, of where I'm going, with my work area. Or, at least I can see the vision . I really didn't want to post any pictures until it was complete, but since this thread is here now, I figured what the heck. Any thoughts, or ideas are always welcome. Thanks to Army for creating this thread, I'm pretty sure that someone can apply something to their own operation to make it more profitable and time efficient
1- Boxes and boxes of all sizes, a workout mat, bins and packaging material. Which I will be going all biodegradable with my next order of packaging supplies
2-Test Bench, tools, radio, printer, bins of screws, caps, resistors, etc (can see it but I have a neodymium magnet screwed to the left leg of this bench for my hammer. Great tip I got from someone else's picture
3- LCD Monitors waiting to be repaired (Notice the pitting floor). This house and foundation are 110 years plus old so its been a long time coming.
4- A wider view of the first picture - Printers that need cleaned/painted/refurbished.
5- My bread and butter. My Ebay picture area. This has made me a lot of money and cost me $8?, maybe for the white poster board I attached to the old cheap computer desk. I am going to be making a much larger one, since I have many larger items I am planning on selling. My Ebay store should grow hopefully 10 fold in the coming months , so I need to streamline and make things as efficient and time saving as possible.

can't see pics
Had a little time and a chance to clean up the shop some. I can actually walk around. I feel like I am getting somewhere....
So happy to see you guys motivated! Keep it up!
T-Minus 61 days til my date to hold my first, of hopefully many, recycling drives. I will be sure to update my personal thread or this one, when I start working on the walls/floors and drywall. I have tons of ideas and about 30 days to get this done. The remaining 31 will be devoted to networking and PR for the event. With a little bit of luck, I hope we can raise some significant coin for out local community shelter and their needs. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooah!!! It's a great time to be alive and great things are coming for everyone, if you believe and go out and make it happen
Something that has worked for me when it comes to ebay pictures. When I first started doing computer parts and stuff I was using the same white plaster background I had been using when I was doing horror movie stuff. By shear coincidence when I moved the shop the first time the picture table was left home and I was taking pictures against particle board and my desk, for whatever reason people seemed to prefer the contrast of that and Ive used it since heh.
My shelving is multiplying. Also the number of listings we are doing per day has doubled! Cleaning continues, the interior has been shopvac'd in corners and dust has been picked up where we can. We have added a certified tenth pound scale for our scrap handling. The better news is that we found vendors for shipping supplies that are selling the same brands we use for half the price or less, this will be a boon...I spend easily 800 in supplies a month, the idea I can halve that has me smiling!
I wasn't going to post a before picture of my garage because things have been piling up the last few weeks. I haven't been scrapping much because I've been working on my wifes car the last 2 weekends and putting together furniture she bought.
The first pic is what it looked like yesterday morning.
The second picture is what it looks like most of the time when I'm scrapping. I have big trash cans with wheels that I use for aluminum, Cat5 & Cat 6 data cable, #3 insulated wire and 1 for the heavy power boards. The 5 gallon buckets to the left of the table are for smaller items. The area at the front of my truck is where I put things that need to be tested or broken down. The other side of the truck is where things are put for sorting and when that area is full is goes in the driveway.
It's not a big area but it works well as long as it stays organized. I only do this part time so this space works for me.
Another important milestone! I have installed the beer fridge! It was either that or the AC.... Just kidding. I just got my sink up and running. I had plumbed in the supply, but had not set up the drain. I was actually running the sink into a bucket and pouring the bucket out. I was thinking too much like a home and it finally occured to me that I could run the waste water under the shop. Transition from 1 1/2 tailpipe to a hose connection and dropped a hose through the floor.
It will just be soap and water to wash my hands or the like, so at this point it is good enough, but I can pour out warm beer or wash my hands or splash water in my eyes and not worry about emptying a bucket... I have also started to do work out of the shop... Not just stupid s h i t, but actually doing work that makes money or helps the home.
I need a shop sink SOOOOOOOOO bad. We have rags from cleaning (I am stopping the use of paper towels soon). That is an awesome setup, make sure you put a strainer in there just in case.
I hate using paper towels good cleaning rags are a must when refurbishing computer equipment its always a bit dusty
