My yard requires I remove most of the plastic before bringing it to them, so I pull out the sledge and comply.
I generally avoid them now because for one thing, there are approximately 8,426,229 screws holding all of the little boards, stepper motors, etc. on the darn thing.
And secondly, the toner--that I somehow managed to get all over myself every time I've processed one of them--is carcinogenic, on the level of asbestos and the beryllium oxide you find in older microwaves with the (usually pink) ceramic magnetron insulators.
