My latest oddest project cvd reactor

I recently purchased an Epigress cvd reactor. What once was a million dollar piece of equipment is now a scrap candidate. It was made to separate and apply silicon to wafers. Unsure of the plan of attack as I found out that the local 15,000 pound forklift couldn't pick it up. I will be documenting this adventure as I go.
I currently have it listed on a lab equipment sale site but still want to take a shot at scrapping it just for fun. Will update as it happens.

    Awesome score!

I see stuff like this locally but the size and auctions removal parameters keep me from going after this stuff. Do you have a crew to help or are you doing this by your self?

Ill be watching for update and pictures.

Note to self. Ask about weight before buying. Estimated 17,000 pounds. Mostly stainless with a lot of high dollar valves. Should be an interesting tesr down once we figure out to unload it

Not to Hijack this, but I was at a local auction of a company who makes Sapphire Substrate (I think?). They have 98 furnaces that supposedly held over 1000 pounds plugs of tungsten, We are working with a large industrial scrapper to bid this job and help remove these things. But with a quick google search, I found scrap tungsten around $10 a pound. So 98*1000*10 is $980,000 in tungsten alone.

This is going to be an adventure. Already having to pay to get it moved. Several 1000 pounds of stainless and a lot of components that are eBay material.
