    My good deed for today.

Lady called today wanting me to pick up a washing machine. Too far for me to go after. She said there was some kind of recycling place by her, but they wanted $12 to take it. Then she said she might just have to load it in her pickup and take it to the landfill, but they would want something to take it, too, then just take it to the scrap yard and sell it. So I asked her "If you've got a pickup, why not haul it to the scrap yard, yourself? There are several around you. Throw some junk metal in it you might have laying around. They'll pay you the same as me or anybody else. They don't care WHO brings it in." She was really surprised and kept thanking me. She just hadn't thought of doing that. We talked that she might not get more than the gas money back. Went on and explained how people like me cut stuff up to make it worth more, but for her purposes, just load it up and haul it in. She kept thanking me for taking the time to talk to her .....

Some might see it as training my competition, but she's too far for it to bother me.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Good job on the good deed. She actually will come out ahead. Not only will she get a few bucks for the metal she also saves the money on what she would have had to pay the land fill or the person to come out and pick it up.
