Quote from Patriot76 above. " The reason this is post is to remind members there are still safe areas and good people."

The only draw back is those OH MY GOD winters. Which would also cut down on the thieves. 73, Mike
But North Dakota and Montana Hi-Line winters are worse!! Sorry, pjost if you're around, just couldn't help myself...

    A two front update.

I have survived the brunt of the mess, the rest is on the lawyers. I've got the trust set up and defensible so futures are secure. Most of the bills are paid and the taxes are taken care of, even had the county reassess the property, they had it severely overvalued as more than half the land is ag. At the same time I spent several days shaping and pruning trees that should have done a month ago just before sap flowed. All the tree farm equipment got it's maintenance and I sold the extra truck to pay for farm expenses. (Otherwise that would have been 3 trucks in my stable, unnecessary). A fair share of my family has swore me off and I told them all that's fine, your attitudes all sealed your fates anyways. Lastly I spent some money on wildlife cameras for the farm. I don't expressly think family will dig up trees while I'm not there but at this point they have shown their hand and are not to be trusted. I have prevailed through the ordeal totally sober as well, as expected!

The second and probably more interesting affair involves the thief. He had returned to the property on Tuesday night, I'm sure he had read that I've been out of the office for a while. Well I started back up on Monday so I was actually at the shop to hear him trying to get in the back door. He has been arrested, I ended up pressing charges for the theft and gave the police the video. I'm a little upset about the ordeal but he sealed his fate like so many people do. To me this just shows how improperly handled the drug problem in America really is. We criminalize an addiction that leads to a person hiding their habits and committing more crime to support the habit. Very sad to me, I do hope this guy finds some help.

Everyone enjoy your memorial weekend and don't forget to plant a few flags for our fallen brethren.
