Are You Lucky?

Are you lucky? I feel like I am very lucky. In my life, I feel like I win way more than I lose. I am wondering how many here feel like they are on the winning end of the deal.

I remember one time I was at a Chinese restaurant and the fortune cookie fortune I got was, "Your luck is going to change." I was horrified. It actually weighed on my head and heart for quite some time after I got it. I was worried that something capricious as luck could change by the luck of getting a fortune cookie fortune.

I have actually had someone I work with ask me to accompany them on a job. When I asked if they needed help, they told me "no, I was just lucky."

The reason it occurred to me to ask here was that I have just purchased an IPhone at a garage sale. When I powered it up, it asked for a four digit code. I did 1234, and 9876 and a few more codes I though would be geometric shapes and they failed (I imagine each one of you would give the same shot). I looked at the screen and put in 2245 and the phone unlocked. I have done the same thin on a half a dozen phones and have never succeeded. I know that the odds are stacked WAYYYYYYYY against me.



I am wondering how you consider your luck. Do you have any stories that you feel support good luck or bad luck?

Odds on your lottery are probably better than the odds on figuring out a 4 numbers on a cell phone unlock. But then again you can try the numbers on the phone for free...

Honestly, my luck is either incredible or horrible, never middle of the road. Work wise, I've always had the worst of luck, at the same time though, long story short with a procedure my mother had when she didn't know she was pregnant with me, her doctor was baffled to find out a week later she was five weeks pregnant and I was born healthy...

T00nces2, send some of that luck my way. I ate some Chinese food a few weeks ago and when I opened my fortune cookie, there was nothing inside. It seems like there's always an obstackle in the way of the treasure I seek. Nothing comes easy for me.......constantly having to make sugar out of s**t.

What I do have is a wonderful wife (28 years) three awesome kids, a good job, great insurance and a roof over my head. I am truly blessed.

Everything he says is true. I do what he says and I get lucky breaks. I do not count on the luck, but I look back on my life and the dice seem to come up my way. If my luck holds out, I will be a 97 year old who gets shot by a jealous husband.

I believe the results of good work ethics, proper timing and educated business decisions can be misinterpreted as luck to those who live by different criteria. And when you have truly good intentions, you get universal bonus points that come off as absurd to those with less than ideal practices. No actual data, just observations from living. Intend good to those around you, and all with those same intentions will succeed with you.

Well, I just got a trash can full of aluminum (99% cans + some foil and assorted random aluminum bits) from a neighbor, so I'm feeling quite lucky right now!

As the old saying goes, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all! I feel like nothing comes easy for me, to the point where It gets me down and I say to myself why even bother? But I keep on keeping on, lol. And btw I completely agree with Adam Corolla, I'd never seen that but man that's a good motivational speech.
