First good craigslist free section score!

Hi all! Only started seriously scrapping about one week ago. Just shy of all of my effort so far has been towards finding clients as figure that will be more dependable in the long-term (please correct me if I'm wrong about that!). But today on craigslist answered an ad and didn't hear nothing back. Oh well. Dude texts me back about two hours later and says the others who responded can't come until tomorrow and the stuff is mine if I come right away. Well I'm doing nothing other than teaming up with a cold beer and some dried mango to keep my waistline from shrinking to healthy levels so I head out and pick up 27, 56lb buckets of 5/64 welding wire for the cost of gas that amounts to about two McChickens. So that's 4 rolls per barrell and a quick look at what they sell for on ebay says that's about two month's rent I just picked up for about 30 minutes of driving! Thanks universe!

Indeed. Looking for local buyers tonight to offer it to tomorrow. Otherwise will piece it out on Ebay at $10-15 per roll for a quick-ish turnaround.

Is it a good seller on Ebay and how many other suppliers are there? High demand and low supply works well in your favor hopefully.

Is the stuff hot...?? Did they tell you why they got rid of it? Somebody ditching a couple grand of product for free sounds like a score is getting settled. Good luck in getting rid of it. I hope it doesn't come back to bite you in the a**...

Yeah got it from an iron worker. Was leftover from a job site and was gonna be trashed (WHY!?!?!). Agree it sounded a little too good but turns out was just my lucky day.

It looks like 'Fluxcore' MIG wire. I have worked on a few jobs where we had like 5-25 rolls of wire left over from the job/contract.

The 5 were fluxcore 1.4mm and the 25 were 100% Aluminium 1.2mm, those grades had no other use in the workshop so they just got stuck in a corner taking up space untill a forklift damaged the crate. In the end they got sold as Alumnium scrap.
