Would You Bend Down to Pick Up a Penny
I actually got out of my truck at a stoplight the other day to pick up a penny. I knew it was a long light, heck, I could've probably walked over to the 7-11 and got a cup of coffee....
Not to threadjack your post, but speaking of old coins found in unusual circumstances, about 15 years ago, I walked in the door of the Home Depot in Garland, TX and spotted a penny laying on the floor. Of course, I picked it up and was very surprised and confused to see that it was a 1911 German Reichspfennig.
Of all the coins that I have, THAT is the one that I would most like to have a conversation with. I bet it has a ****ed interesting story. How in the world it went across an ocean to end up on the floor in the lumber department of a bigbox home improvement store after ~100 years has just GOTTA be a cool story.
