Nice find on the way to the mailbox!

Hi all! Was on my way to the mailbox this morning - on many streets here there are a set of mailboxes for the whole street instead of indivudal house delivery - when I saw a neighbor put this out to the curb. Went and got the dolly and wheeled it home and found a little bag with doorknob parts in it too while I was wheeling it back. I need to check my mail more often!

Agreed! I've only been on this street two weeks now so only know three of my neighbors so far. Will go introduce myself later when they get home. Maybe there's more to come!

Besides removing the brass valves I remove the control box and get dirty aluminum price for it

Give the brass relief valve a good rap with a hammer, these break off really easy leaving just a wee bit of brass thread behind. If the drain tap is brass the hammer trick is quick.

Do me a favor screw the relief valve back in then give it a good tap on the end farthest from the tank, let us all know how it works out for ya.

Water tanks warranted 5 years and more all have brass taps while the lower end warranty stuff has plastic taps.
